Who is the future of the Interior Design profession?  Who will be creating the next generation of innovative design in Oregon and specify the products of tomorrow?  Our students.

IIDA and ASID are proud to host the 2010 Student Day.  With the generosity of our sponsors, we will be showing the next generation of designers a typical workday in our industry.  This year’s event includes a dynamic keynote speaker, opportunities to network with industry professionals, a “passport” style tradeshow for product display and interaction AND a design team charrette moderated by design professionals and product representatives!

Register early as seating is limited to the first 100 students!

Keynote Speaker

Joe Gebbia is a quintessential designtrepreneur, graduating from the Rhode Island School of Design with a BFA in Product Design and another BFA in Graphic Design. During a RISD field trip to the state landfill, he was struck with the Ray Anderson 'spear in the chest'; that moment when a designer realizes their impact on the environment. As his career took off, Joe was soon developing products for corporate clients like LG, Intel and Staples, and his own product, CritBuns. In each project he longed for a central resource to identify, compare, and select sustainable materials. Taking matters into his own hands, he collaborated with classmate and advocate Matt Grigsby to fill this crucial gap in the design process. Ecolect is the result.
